"Lagaan " Movie Review

Movie Review "  Lagaan"


   15th August, on the occasion of the Independence Day. In the Department of English we have a film screening of " Lagaan "  we have try to look and understand deeply and metaphors and structure of the film .

  " Lagaan " is set during the British rule in India ". It focuses on the everyday life off the Indian under the British rule.


   Casteism :-  This movie shows Casteism and real India and real Indian culture ,this movie clearly show castism and it's effect on our Indian society. In a movie we finds in the character of ' Kachara ' He considered as a untouchable by the other villagers. Most of them denies to play with him. He leave on the periphery of the village. Where as Ishwar lives in the centre of the village.



Skill of Leadership :-   Through this movie we can find the leadership skills .When we see the character of Bhuvan. The leader face many problems and difficulties .In the movie bhuvan accept the challenge of cricket. But the other people not understand his ambition and condition. They try to prove Ans play the game which unknown by villagers. After playing game than people understand his motive end people play with him.

Language :-  In the movie language is important thing English consider as high class language because it's only used by Britishers.

           Villagers can't know English language that's why Elizabeth confess his love proposal but Bhuvan can't understand his feeling.

Oneness of religion :-  Movie shows oneness of religion .In the village there are many religion people like Muslim, shikh and Hindu.
